The power button on my computer snapped off today when I pressed it, and fell down inside the computer case. So after today, when I shut the machine down, I might not be around much for a while. I need to retrieve the button and then try to get it to work again. I'm pretty confident I can do the first -- the second, not so much. Oh, well. Maybe I can get the fan fixed if I have to have someone fix the power button. It's been acting up for a while, I think.

Do you have a Dell XPS? The same thing happened to me, I couldn't believe it. They sent someone out to fix it and now it works great. The repair guy said that there is a design flaw that causes that problem for a lot of people.

If you have probs replacing it doing it ghetto style is easy, just extend the wires to hang outside of the case and you can press the switch, if the switch part (not the pretty plastic part but the actual switch) is damaged, cut the wires going to the switch, hang out, strip a tad at the end (for good contact) and touch together to start motherboard. Viola ;) Course you might know this already- if that's the case (lol pun sorry) just ignore me.

I do, Coco! I actually got it fixed by taking the side panel off, fishing out the power button, and gluing it where it's supposed to be.

Thanks, both of you. :)

Many thanks for the free bauble. Am imagining those trees - they will be unique and leafy beauties. Want an update on those rl jewellery classes?

Don't get too excited about the trees, they still may fall apart.

And I'm terrible at RL jewelry. Just terrible. And things have kept me from practicing lately.
