oh yay!
That's a great tree! What's wrong with Blender?
Oh, nothing.
No, that's not true. A lot's wrong with Blender. But in this case, my "bite me" comment was one of victory, not frustration. I've had a terrible time making trees, and now I've finally succeeded!
Did you use a plugin or script to generate the tree, or is that all done by hand?
I used ngplant. :)

Blender has some good plugins for making trees. Did you try Gen3? The tool has a lot of options, and so to get you up to speed quickly there's a useful video tutorial at BlenderNewbies.blogspot.com.
Oh, yes, I've tried it. IIRC, Ngplant is actually made by the same person who did Gen3 -- but it's got more options, and it's not crashy like Gen3 is.
